My visit to Sandakan early July 2008

Hello everyone!

I am Peter from Hong Kong.  This is the first time I post a message in this forum.

My family, my queen (which obviously means my wife) and my 9-year-old son and myself, will have a 7-day holiday in your home town, Sandakan.

This is our first visit to Sandakan.  But we have been to KK twice.  I have found Sabab a wonderfull place and people there most sincere and helpful.  That's why we would like to go there for the third time.  We have already book a 3-day tour to the turtle insland and the tropical rain forest.  There will be 1 and a half day free time that we can spend in the city area of Sandakan.

May I ask,

what are the interesting places (to my son especially) to see there?
what and where are the budgetory eating places for sea food and traditional Malaysian food?
is the law and order good there, any place to avoid?

Just returned from the trip yesterday.

A really refreshing experience.

People there are very helpful.  I found no difficulty is getting around at all.

I am planning another trip to Sabah (probably in the coming October).  We really enjor staying inthe rain forest.   Any suggestion?  How about Uncle Tan?
