this street actual name is Jalan Merdeka, but since MPT applied the US driving direction system to the street to ease the traffic in Fajar area early last year, local people starts to call it "US Street". it's the only one in Malaysia.. and make sure that you think twice before across the street!!!

A memorial which set up to rememberance for the Kalabakan incident happened on 29 December 1963,
located opposite the Ibu Pejabat Polis Tawau.
